S-VDR (Simplified Voyage Data Recorder)
簡易型航行數據記錄儀，即俗稱的黑盒子。

國際海事組織(IMO)海事安全委員會(Maritime Safety Committee, MSC)從2004年12月1日至10日，召開第79期會議。在這十天內所討論的事項摘要如下：

八、簡式航行資料記錄器
該委員會採用SOLAS第V章航行安全，規則20，關於簡式航行資料記錄器規定的修訂案。
該規則規定總噸位3,000及以上的現成貨船，應安裝航行資料記錄器(VGR)或簡式航行資料記錄器(S-VDR)。以總噸位20,000及以上的貨船最先實施，然後繼之以總噸位3,000及以上的貨船。在儲存資料的詳細程度上，並不要求S-VDR如同標準的VDR，但應維持儲存固定可回收的狀態。其資訊應為事故前後一段時間內的船舶位置、運動、船身狀況和船舶的控制等。

MSC.170(79) 決議案
新增SOLAS Reg.V/20.2，要求2002/7/1之前建造之現成貨船逐步裝置航程紀錄器(VDR)或簡式航程紀錄器(S-VDR)。其期限為：
1. 總噸3,000以上，但未滿20,000者：應於2007年7月1日以後之第1次計畫塢修日，但不遲於2010年7月1日。
2. 總噸20,000以上者：應於2006年7月1日以後之第1次計畫塢修日，但不遲於2009年7月1日。
3. 主管機關可豁免將於實施日期兩年內永久除役現成貨船之安裝要求。
